Founded in Istanbul in 2011, Ümit Dizayn brought Ümit Hava’s professional experience into an independent design practice. Beginning in Istanbul’s Kartal district, the studio developed through projects of different scales in Turkey and abroad.
Hava’s work embraces both contemporary design and influences drawn from classical architecture. His Romanesque-inspired villa design, presented in 2024, explores arches, stone textures and symmetrical composition. A residence designed for Alvin Soprano in Istanbul, featured in 2025, demonstrates a contemporary approach through open-plan living spaces, a neutral palette and an emphasis on natural light.
Across these different design languages, his focus extends beyond appearance to how a space will be experienced and used. Clients’ lifestyles and expectations inform decisions about materials, colour, lighting and layout, with the aim of bringing visual coherence and everyday practicality together.
Clear, personal communication and attention to detail underpin the studio’s approach. Through Ümit Dizayn, Hava continues to develop individual responses to each project, placing the relationship between people and their surroundings at the centre of his work.
